First Year of Uni - Last Days

During the final week of uni, I went about taking pictures with the new friends I made with a polaroid. That's right! I HAVE UNI FRIENDS! MHAHAHA. I think I've made a lot more friends in semester 2 than I did in semester 1. I reckon it's because of OPTICS. Compared to my other classes, Optics is by far the smallest - with only 20-30 people rocking up to lectures.

Luckily, I met some of these people in semester 1 and semester 2 gave me a chance to get to know them more. This is the case for Julie, Tina, Amanda, Theresa (I don't think they really count, cause you know, Springvale people after all :D), Kevin, Cameron, Nikki, Carnation, Katrina, Nancy and Diane. However, I didn't get to see a lot of the friends I made in semester 1 like Kim, Thomas and Edip. I wish I had thought of the idea to use my polaroid to take pictures in the last week in semester 1. Now I'll never have the chance to :(

Anywho, here are most of the polaroids that I took. I edited them a bit, but who cares :P

Polaroid pictures

1st row: Carnation, Sam, Triple S
2nd row: Theresa, Nancy and Katrina, Julie
3rd row: Tina, Cameron, Sharon
4th row: Nikki, Sandra, Amanda
5th row: ME, Kevin, Jason
6th row - people I wanted to take a picture with: Kim, Thomas, Edip, Khiang, Adrianne, Harin, Diane, Vanessa, this girl from Physics x2.

I'm getting better at using the right settings when taking pictures now! So yeah, at first, a lot of them turned out darker than I would have liked...but at least I've learnt from my mistakes. And errr, sometimes I'm not looking at the camera cause I'm concentrating on pressing the button. It didn't work sometimes so I thought there was something wrong :(

Oh! I took a picture with my lecturer! MHAHAHA. What can I say? I'm a teacher's pet even in uni keke.

confessions of a teenage shopaholic

Growing up, I never did a lot of shopping. The most I ever did was once in a couple of months, with the exceptions of major sales time such as Boxing Day and End of Financial Year. Other than that, my cousin would always give my sister and I clothes that she didn't want anymore. Funnily enough, quite a lot of them had tags still on them.

I used to go shopping with my family a lot. Mum would always pay and Dad and my brother would just linger around - sometimes managing to buy something. My mum always bought more stuff compared to my sister and I. But that's nothing unusual, I remember she used to have a phase of buying perfume - tonnes and tonnes of them.

Now-a-days though, I go shopping by myself. I don't like going with anyone. Just myself is fine. Though on rare occasions I do find myself tagging along as someone else shops. But mainly, I like going by myself.

I treat shopping as the time where I can relax a little and just have fun, especially since I do most of my shopping after uni. It's like a stress-reliever - I can forget about all the crap that I have to do for uni and for an hour an a bit, I can enjoy doing nothing (not that I don't do that at home...)

I never had to worry about clothes back in high school. I just had to rock up with my uniform - nothing less, nothing more. But now that I'm in uni, I'm faced with the challenge of having to pick outfits every single day. I'm starting to get the hang of it, but it's still quite difficult.

I think this is mainly due to the fact that I'm not a very 'fashionable' person. My main goal is to feel comfortable in my clothes while at the same time not stick out as a sore thumb. I don't necessarily know what looks good with each other and 'balance' my clothes out with contrasts in colour and what-not, but hey, at least I care about what I wear.

CHALLENGE: DO SOMETHING NEW EACH MONTH

I decided to do this a while ago, and actually did one this month. Now I'm finally going to blog about it :D

Photobucket
CHALLENGE o1: Wear high heels for ONE day.

I don't wear high heels unless it's a special occasion. It's not my thing for one reason and one reason only - THEY FREAKING KILL. Seriously, it's like they were invented to test the endurance of women.

Since I don't go out on Saturday and Sunday, I decided to wear them during the week, but since I have no day offs, I ended up wearing them as I run around my uni. Not my idea of fun. Especially since I do a lot of running/walking in a day.

But on that day, I was meeting up with Karen. So for her, I was walking around city. Thank goodness we were at Pepperoni's for more than an hour so I could let my poor feet rest. But by the end of the day, I dreaded every step I took. The only motivation I had was the reminder that I survived formal last year...

Which didn't really last that long. After I dropped Karen off at the traffic lights, ha ha, I walked to my street, found an inconspicuous area and took them off. I walked home with no shoes. BEST. DECISION. EVER.

Worst thing about wearing these heels were the pain that last till the next 2 day. That's right, TWO days. Even after two night's rest, I could still feel the after-effects. I don't understand how women can wear these shoes on a regular basis and still smile with glee. I guess my uncle was right - they don't feel no pain cause they don't got no nerves.

Anyways, the only quirk I got out of it was being a little taller than usual. Apart from that, I didn't really think there was a benefit to wearing heels that kill.

I don't think I'll repeat this anytime soon.
